What could a person do to boost their immune system?

My husband gets sick a lot and I'm thinking that his immune system could be weak, so I was wondering if there was anything that he could take (ie., One A Day, vitamin C's, etc.) that would help strengthen his immune system, or at least prevent him from getting sick so easily? If anyone has any info I could use it as soon as possible! Thank you!

There are a few things he can do. While he's sick, he can take Echinacea~Golden seal. It's the herbal anti-biotic, but it doesn't stay in your system like a Rx antibiotic does. It's really good for rebuilding the immune system.

He could also take Olive Leaf Extract. It has properties in it that help to build an immune system and he will get sick much less by taking it every day.

I went on this search earlier this year due to hay fever - the only thing other than a good diet %26amp; sleep that i found was a good mutli vitamin %26amp; mineral.

I have been on it for nearly 3 months %26amp; feel better in general - from nails stronger to feeling well in self - will have to wait til next spring to see about hay fever though!

Reply:I take Nikken's "Immunity" supplement. It is designed to be taken daily to keep your immune system operating at peak performance. I've had a lot of luck with it. Let me know if you'd like more info.

Reply:A mulitvitamin would help fill in the holes of a diet. I would have him eat more vegetables which are rich in vitamins. Add some yogurt to his diet. You have heard about those types that have probiotic enzymes in them? These enzyemes help the immune system to fight off things. So, add some yogurt. Even try to cook with yogurt. You can make a wonderful yogurt sauce using some plain yogurt and garlic mixed together. It tastes great over chicken or fish. Fix him a green salad with his dinner also. I try to eat salad at least once a day. Tell him also not to touch is eyes or nose with his hands. It can trasmit those germs into his body.

I am reading a very good book : You are What You Eat, by Dr. Gillian McKeith. It has many immunity building tips.
Reply:Most of your immune system is in your digestive tract. If he's sick all the time he probably has been on antibiotics. I would recommend he pick up some probiotics. I've been on them for months and haven't been sick since, not even when the new school year started. They are really a miracle. Good luck!!
Reply:Take a multivitamin every day plus some extra vitamin C.
