ok i want to give my children vitamin c chewable tablets to boost their immune system. so they won't sick so much. but the thing is that i don'r know how many mg.'s to give them. one is 3 and the other is 6. the tablets i bought are 500 mg.'s each is that to much? should i give them half of it or 3/4?
Vitamin c how much of it?
Do some research and ask your pediatrician before giving Vitamin C. There was a very recent study out suggesting that Vitamin C supplements are not only ineffective but in some cases can be detrimental.
If you want to get your kids immune system up, good ol' fruits and veggies are the best way!
Reply:give the older one half of that--250 milligrams--but check with their doctor first...When my son was sick--his doctor told him to take 250 milligrams twice a day...and he is 5 1/2--
Reply:The beautiful thing about vitamin C is that your body easily flushes out the excess,,,there is no toxic level, you can't give too much....it may be wasted but it won't be too much. You are better off buying the highest quality childrens vitamin you can and give them that. Our current diets are made up of fruits and veggies that are picked green so they will last until they get to the store and the soils are so depleted that our food is almost nutritionally empty...I can point you in a great direction but it wasn't the question you asked, so if you want to know more contact me.
